The customers and merchants of Shoppers World Brampton provided an overwhelming response to the recent clothing drive and Clear Out Your Closet contest co-sponsored by Shoppers World Brampton and Professional Organizer Karen Sencich. Bags of gently used clothing donations began arriving even before the official opening of the contest in support of The Canadian Diabetes Association's Clothesline® spring 'sew' the seeds of hope program.
One anonymous participant shared her motivation for clearing out her closet. She had lost 31 pounds and several dress sizes on a weight loss program and had kept it off for over a year. When she read about the promotion she was inspired to donate 90% of her wardrobe, including business suits, so that she and her husband would have more closet space.
The contest garnered considerable attention from both local and national media with television crews visiting from both Rogers Cable TV and the Real Life show on the CTS network filming two information segments.
Jane Crawford, Operations Manager for the Peel Clothesline® Program called the community initiative "a phenomenal effort that garnered over 2 tons of donated clothing during the two week clothing drive."
Clayton Claveau, Associate, Marketing & Communications for The Canadian Diabetes Association would like to thank all of the generous donors in Brampton for helping to make a difference in the lives of the 8.5 million Canadians living with or at risk of diabetes.
The Clothesline® program is actively seeking donation box hosts in Peel region. To learn more about hosting a donation box or to schedule a free pick-up of clothing and small household items right from your door, contact Clothesline® at 1-800-505-5525 or log on at www.diabetes.ca.

Tackle it Now Tip
Organizing and Prioritizing During the G-20 Summit
From June 25 to 27th many businesses in the downtown Toronto area will be closed due to the stringent security procedures in place during the G-20 Summit.
Some businesses will close altogether, others will assign a skeleton staff to "man the fort" while other workers will be assigned to work at home. The key to successfully navigating this inconvenience is to plan for maximum flexibility.
In the articles section I have posted a press release with my Top Ten Tips to harness employee productivity during the upheaval.
